Backhoe Loaders for Earthmoving

The most versatile piece of earthmoving equipment on larger construction large or small are backhoe loaders. What makes the backhoe loader a must-have on all kinds of building and construction sites is its combination of two or more useful tools into one machine.

General Information on Backhoe Loaders

A standard backhoe loader is powered by a diesel engine. Most commonly it is a four-wheeled vehicle with the construction operator backhoe in the middle and tools on each end. In front of the backhoe is the loader. The loader is a wide bucket with two arms that are used to pick up loose piles of materials and push dirt back into a hole when a job is done. The rubble can of course also be loaded on a vehicle. The rear end has a backhoe equipped with a hydraulic excavator utilizing a digging scoop. The excavator arm would rest on three jointed feet.

When choosing the right backhoe loader for a job one needs to consider the digging depth and the required reach of the excavator arm.
